Establishment of Järva County Culture Grove began in 1992 and every year all of the winners of that year’s local Culture Prize plant their own oak tree in the Grove.
Until 2000 the prize was awarded by Järva County Government, starting from 2001 by Järva County Association of Municipality Governments. Relevant prize categories and designations have also changed over time; however, there has never been a shortage of capable individuals that deserve recognition and so it is that the Grove now holds more than 100 trees.
