We are looking for a curator of education and public programmes

At Tammsaare Museum in Vargamäe, the key to visitor engagement is working with audiences: educational programmes for schools and kindergartens, cooperation with teachers, public events, excursions, bookable experience programmes, organising the Estonian Literature Celebration Week, and much more. Job responsibilities: preparing and developing the content of educational and public programmes, including family programmes, in line with the museum’s overall activities; delivering educational programmes; preparing, editing and, if needed, organising the production of study materials for educational programmes; implementing and promoting different forms of educational activity, including updating information on the museum website, managing social media channels, giving presentations and introductions, organising project information days, and working with the public and target groups; implementing and promoting different forms of the museum’s pedagogical work, such as articles, interviews and mentoring. The ideal candidate has higher education, preferably in literature or pedagogy; knowledge of different target groups and museum education methods; good communication and self-expression skills and confident public speaking ability; good administrative skills and computer literacy in MS Office; excellent Estonian, with other languages an advantage; project management experience; and readiness to work with aggregated working hours, including occasional evenings and weekends. We offer a full-time position in a beautiful natural setting starting on 21.08.2024; participation in interesting literature and cultural projects; partial remote work possibilities, flexible work organisation and a creative working environment; exciting challenges in museum education; and a gross salary of €1600.
