From Herd Boy to Writer – Seminar and Hike

On 24 November it will be 95 years since Anton Hansen Tammsaare began writing ‘Truth and Justice’. On 28 November at 12:00 we will mark the occasion with a seminar and a hike. Museum curator Siiri Kvell will speak about A. H. Tammsaare’s development into a writer: who influenced him, what his first attempts at writing were like, and what his writing process was. Visitors to the seminar will take a journey through time from Tammsaare’s childhood to his school years and from there into adulthood. We will end the event with a shared walk along the paths of the writer’s childhood. Motto from ‘Truth and Justice’: ‘In a marvellous sensitivity expanded beyond measure, every smallest childhood sorrow and every least joy later become the foundation of a work of art for the adult, without the child ever knowing it.’ (Baudelaire) We will meet on 28 November at 12:00.
