The guides for the heritage hike are museum curator Siiri Kvell and Ilme Mäesalu, adviser on historical monuments at the National Heritage Board. The hike begins at 12:00 by Järva-Madise Church. It takes us to three cemeteries, including the old Järva-Madise cemetery, where writer A. H. Tammsaare’s parents Peeter and Ann Hansen are buried. We will talk about old customs and get to know cemetery styles and traditions. Including breaks, the total walking distance is about 4 km there and back, and the hike lasts about 2 hours. Participation fee: €5 / €4. Hike participants may visit the museum free of charge on the same day, 29 May, on presentation of their ticket.
