Painting Camp at Vargamäe on 26 July, 11:00–18:00

Beautiful Vargamäe landscapes. A feeling for nuance. A dialogue between art and literature, en plein air at the A. H. Tammsaare Museum at Vargamäe. Come and learn how to mix the right colours of Estonia — literary, soft, muted tones that can be found in descriptions of nature. Beginners will learn to capture colour, frame a motif, and use aerial perspective; more experienced painters will discover how to conjure an entire palette of muted tones from six basic colours. We will paint outdoors on the grounds of the A. H. Tammsaare Museum. The instructor is freelance painter, illustrator, and art teacher Eve Valper. Eve has led the open-air painting course in the continuing education programme of the Tartu Higher Art School. The camp fee of 110 euros includes acrylic paints and painting supplies, the instructor’s fee, and lunch. Participants may bring along their favourite tools and brushes. For more information call 5340 3461, Krislin Kasch. Register for the camp at muuseum@vargamae.ee or by purchasing a ticket through Fienta. Group size: 10 people. The course will take place if enough places are filled.
